Clients

Sight into Sound is not just for completely blind individuals. The clients we serve include:

• those with visual disabilities like cataracts, low vision and macular degeneration
• those who are unable to hold a book or turn pages due to physical disabilities like Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, Arthritis and quadriplegia
• those with learning disabilities like dyslexia and attention deficit disorder
• others who, through any of various causes, cannot read normal printed materials

Mission

Sight into Sound is an independent non-profit organization with a mission to Turn Sight into Sound, enriching the lives of individuals with visual, physical and learning disabilities. We do this through our Radio Reading, Custom Recording and Audio Description services.

Current Events

May 16-20 are the dates for this year’s IAAIS Conference, and Sight into Sound is organizing this year’s event. For complete information please visit http://iaais.org/conference.html

The International Association of Audio Information Services (IAAIS)  is the trade group representing reading services for the blind. Its 100+ member organizations are from most U.S. states, Canada and New Zealand, and this will mark the conference’s first trip to Houston.

Pat Pilkington, Sight into Sound’s Vice President of Client Services, is leading SIS’s organization efforts.

The Sight into Sound community is invited to attend all conference sessions and functions, including the May 17 studio tour/dinner and the May 19 Awards Dinner. Registration is required. All events except the studio tour/dinner will be held at the Westin Galleria Hotel.
